DKS-LAB 2026

Artists in the visual field are invited to apply for participation.
Application deadline: March 16
Diversity and art from marginalized communities
All artists may apply, but for this year’s DKS-LAB in Molde we are especially seeking artists who come from marginalized communities and who wish to communicate ideas from their artistic practice to children and young people.
In a time when social and cultural perspectives are shifting globally, we believe it is more important than ever to emphasize that the work for peace and understanding depends on meeting in community and standing together. In 2026, this is one of MRK’s main goals.
By presenting artistic practices and art projects that emerge from marginalized communities, we aim to highlight global perspectives and the issues that accompany them, bringing these closer to our region.
In 2026 we present works by Victor Guzman, a Norwegian-Chilean artist; the Palestinian artist Jumana Manna; drag performance artist Rune Nielsen; Queer City Cinema from Saskatchewan, Canada; the American Indigenous artist and Pulitzer Prize winner Raven Chacon; artists and activists from Los Angeles; as well as Ida Rödén’s project, which reimagines history, anthropology, polar research, and archaeology.
Møre og Romsdal Kunstsenter has hosted DKS-LAB several years, and participants are now touring with The Cultural Schoolbag (DKS) – an important opportunity for children in Norway to meet and experience professional art.
