Water on fire - New exhibition opens Friday 21st of April at 5 pm.
Welcome to the opening of a new exhibition
Friday 21st of April at 5 pm.
Water on fire
- works by Thomas Kilpper.
The artist will be present, and there will be light refreshments from Café Kurt.
The title refers to a burning contemporary issue; water and the fight for access to water.
Water on Fire consists of a series of works in different techniques, originally created for the city of Wiesbaden’s annual theme which was water in 2022.
Thomas Kilpper’s projects are often site-specific, and he is particularly known for transforming entire floors of empty buildings into printing blocks for woodcuts , and large-format installations.
This is an artist who combines a distinct conceptual basis with high technical skill to create impactful and highly present images.
In the exhibition in MRK’s gallery, the power of Kilpper’s woodcuts meets the sensitive expression in watercolor drawings in a free artistic interpretation of the various social aspects surrounding the theme of water.
The exhibition in Molde has been made possible with generous support from the Arts Council Norway with funds from the Arena – Guest accommodation scheme.
