2025 marked a significant milestone in the history of Norwegian craft, as they celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Norske Kunsthåndverkere (Norwegian Association for Arts and Crafts). To commemorate this half-century of artistic innovation, tradition, and cultural dialogue, Møre og Romsdal Kunstsenter is proud to host a special exhibition featuring members of NK that are based in Møre og Romsdal.
Norske Kunsthåndverkere (NK) has been the professional organization for artisans in Norway since 1975. In 2025, NK celebrated its 50th anniversary, which was marked throughout the year with events and exhibitions across the country.

Inspired and energized by the artists’ action that began in 1974, craft artists sought to clarify their identity as free, creative artists. Advocacy for artisans’ working conditions lies at the very backbone of the organization. At the same time, NK has always fought for the dissemination of craft, and over the years has established a wide range of exhibitions, exhibition venues, and a journal.
Through this exhibition, MRK is honoring the artisans of our region.

The exhibition is presented in collaboration with NKMidt-Norge (Norwegian Association Region Midt-Norge)
