A ritual dance performance which investigates the traditional sacred dances of the Indian 3rd gender “Hijras” in relationship to contemporary dance in gay and transgender sub-cultures,

A project #6 is a collaboration between artist Eivind Reierstad and dancer Alexandre Guimarães Dos Santos from Ilhéus Bahia in Brazil. The project invites the audience to experience how different forms of dance merge with ritual rhythms and drums, and can create something new that can expand our understanding of spiritual language and gender today.

Eivind Reierstad (1972) Norway, is working in the field of performance, music and experimental film/video. He has participated in various international exhibitions; The Whitney Museum of American Art, NYC, Paco das Artes, Sao
Paulo, The Barbican in London, the 51 th Venice Biennial and the 10th Istanbul Biennial as well as numerous theater, performance, film & video festivals worldwide. Reierstad previously workes under the artist name «ANE LAN», now A-project.

Alexandre Guimarãres (1989) Brazil, is a tribal fusion dancer who specializes in male belly dancing and cross-over
dance forms.
