With the movie A Human Position, Anders Emblem has made a warm, melancholic and artistically ambitious movie about the modern Norway – seen from Ålesund. Join us for the only screening in Molde, for free! After the film, Hanne Ulla from Møre og Romsdal Kunstsenter will give an artist talk with the director.

A Human Position was created in the summer of 2020, on approximately zero budget. In January 2022 it was selected to open the film festival in Tromsø and now it has been selected for prestigious festivals in Europe and Asia.
The film follows the young Asta from Ålesund, who works as a journalist in Sunnmørsposten and lives with the furniture carpenter Live, who specializes in repairing old chairs. Asta’s view of the world and life is challenged when she learns about a case of a lost asylum applicant. More than a social drama, A Human Position is a cinematic exploration of empathy – where the observant, the present and the exploring atmosphere is underlined by Anders Emblem’s unique cinematic language, which recently was described as “Murakami-esque” by Peter Bradshaw in The Guardian.

The screening is free of charge – first come, first served.
