Siri Berqvam
Dead Deader Deadest

Siri Berqvam works with sculpture and installation where textile is the main material.

The artist comments on the contemporary with needle and thread, in ambiguous
textile universes where seriousness and humour combine. In recent years Berqvam has taken inspiration from the human body, internal organs and hyphae, the forest’s underground network. The art appears darker and more mysterious than before, with ghosts, body parts and mutations as a starting point for the sculptures. The artist herself claims that she has an attraction towards the aesthetics of decay and collapse in western culture, with themes rooted in childhood, dystopia and science fiction.
