Welcome to the Bjørnson festival exhibition 2026!

“Fullkontakt” is a choreographic installation and film created in collaboration with Øyvind Aspen. The work explores different forms of intimacy, with movement material unfolding from delicate touch to high-impact physical confrontation. The costumes bring together references from different times, places, and cultural contexts, dissolving the dancers’ individual identities into a single, collective body.

A central premise of the work is the concept of kinesthetic empathy: our capacity to experience and recognize the movement of others within our own bodies, through our own embodied experience. In “Fullkontakt”, choreography extends beyond the performers to include the movement of the camera and the film’s circulation across six screens. Together, these choreographic layers invite audiences into a bodily mode of perception. We are interested in how this shared kinesthetic experience resonates in the audience, and in the thoughts, sensations, and language it sets in motion.

The work was commissioned by Bjørnsonfestivalen and Møre og Romsdal Kunstsenter through curator Jet Pascua with Fiksdal being the 2026 Festival Artist.

Ingri Fiksdal was born and raised in Molde and works as a choreographer based in Oslo. She holds a PhD in artistic research from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts (2019). Ingri works with choreography as a format for speculative fiction — a starting point for a “speculation” that can propose complex and diverse understandings of body, gender, art, knowledge, and history. She is concerned with how practice and theory are woven together in her work, rather than one being derived from the other.
